Taking PTs, sections, and drills isn’t enough to improve — you also have to learn from your mistakes. Try to review every question you get wrong or feel unconfident about.
Logical Reasoning
Every LR question has both written “snippets” and video explanations.
Snippets are designed to give you a quick explanation focused on how a high-scorer would think about the stimulus and answer choices.
Video explanations tend to give a more comprehensive breakdown of a question. Many video explanations have multiple versions. Use both if you want to get different takes on a question or if one doesn’t address what you find confusing.
Reading Comprehension
Every RC question has a video explanation and a snippet explanation for the associated passage. There are also video and snippet explanations for each individual question.
Still Confused? Ask a Tutor!
We try our best to address common points of confusion in the snippets and video explanations. But we can’t address everything! Sometimes, you’ll interpret the stimulus or an answer in a way that we didn’t anticipate, or the way we explained something didn’t quite land. Use the big “Ask a tutor” button below the video explanation when this happens, and our team of tutors will help clear things up.
Tips for making the most out of the “Ask a tutor” button:
-
Share how you think about the question! The more you share, the more tailored and helpful our responses. For example, if you’re asking about why the answer you picked is wrong, try to explain why you think it’s correct.
- Not as helpful: “I don’t get why D is wrong.”
- Better: “I thought D was right because of [your reason]. And I thought E couldn’t be right because of [your reason]. Where did I go wrong?”
-
Try to be specific. What part of the passage or stimulus is confusing? What phrase in the answer are you having trouble interpreting? What exact parts of the video explanation aren’t clicking?
- Not as helpful: “The explanation doesn’t make sense.”
- Better: “I didn’t get when J.Y. started talking about cost/benefit reasoning around the 2 minute mark in the video, so I couldn’t follow the explanations for A and B.”
