Bad Character And Fitness Addendum

In Fall 2012, during my first semester of junior year, I was issued citations for “Possession of Alcohol by a Minor” and “Possession of Fraudulent Identification” from the Champaign County Police Department. As a result of these citations, my driving privileges were suspended for 12 months and I was issued a University Reprimand.

My experience profoundly affected my life. I reflected on how my poor life choices were jeopardizing my future aspirations and I decided I needed to make drastic changes in my life. Since then, I have devoted myself to improving my character and well-being; I removed negative influences and focused on my academic studies and extracurricular responsibilities. Though I sincerely remorse my past mistakes, I have grown tremendously as a result of my experience and I remain committed to bettering myself each day.

This addendum is a good start, but the author could improve it in two main ways:

1. Tell us more about the incident that led to the citation.

2. Be more specific about the changes he's made to his life since then.
